Primer on ''Resource efficiency and cleaner production'' has been developed for SMEs
The Fifth RECP (Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production) Stakeholder Conference financed by the European Union took place in RA Lori Region. The conference objective is to make progress towards reduction and utilization of wastes in small and medium-sized enterprises. RECP Project is implemented by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) within the scopes of ''Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighborhood'' (EAP Green) program.
The conference focuses on localization and development of RECP way of thinking, principles, terminology and format in Armenia, as well as organizing of discussions with the participation of stakeholder ministries, state, private and non-governmental organizations. The debates are realized to promote the cooperation and facilitate understanding among stakeholder groups.
''Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighborhood'' program assists the RA Government to make the transition to a green economy, thus decoupling economic growth from resource depletion and environmental degradation.
The meeting was attended by RA Deputy Minister of Nature Protection, EaP Green national responsible person Mr. Khachik Hakobyan, Lori Region Deputy Governor Mr. Hovhannes Tadevosyan, International Aid/ cooperation officer of the EU Delegation to Armenia Mr. John Barker, Head of UNIDO Operations in Armenia Mrs. Anahit Simonyan.
Khachik Hakobyan, welcoming green economy introduction policy espacially noted:“Within the scopes of the project RECP Green Clubs are being established to promote the introduction of green economy in Armenia; moreover, trained experts and elaborated primers will make innovative technological solutions available to entrepreneurs through RECP Clubs''. The latter also stated that it is envisaged to create National Center for Green Economy at the end of the project.
During the conference the core principals of the primer on ''Resource efficiency and cleaner production'' were presented, as well as RECP methodology, the experience of SMEs, which passed RECP expertise were considered.
Any business company operating in the market needs investment of ecologically safe, methods, means and tools accepted by the world for the latter's progress and creation of competitive product; the primer on “RECP'' for SMEs will assist for this objective.
