Category. CR – Critically Endangered.

Brief description. Cap is from 9–12 cm across, yellow–brownish, mucous, pulvinate at first convex then flat. Young fruit bodies have folded margins. When mature margins are bumped. Flesh varies in colour from yellow–olive–coloured to light pink. Tubes are yellow– olive–coloured to brownish. The young fruit bodies are narrow. Mature ones are up to 2 mm width. Stipe is 6–8 x 1–2,5 cm, yellow in the upper part with colourless warts, with dirty pink thick felt mycelium at the base. Spore print is yellowish. Spores are 10 x 3,5 µm, ellipsoidal, smooth.

Distribution. Generally in Europe, Asia, Northern America, Southern Caucasus (Armenia). In Armenia it is discovered in Yerevan floristic region, in Yerevan City, in Norq forests.

Ecological, biological and phytocenological peculiarities. In Armenia it is rarely met, mainly in unique individuals, on the soil, in coniferous forests, on the altitude of 1000 m above sea level, in August. Mycorrhizal fungi, generally with coniferous trees. Edible fungi.

Main factors of endangering. Limited distribution, reduction or loss of forest areas caused by uncontrolled felling.

Nature conservation measures. It is necessary to carry out works in finding new habitats.
