Category. Endangered species. It occurs in three habitats one of which is very remote. The extent of occurrence is less than 5000 km2, the area of occupancy is less than 500 km2. The key threat is the decline of the extent of occurrence and area of occupancy caused by changes in habitats conditions. It was not included in the first edition of the Red Data Book of Armenia. It is not included in the Annexes of CITES and that of the Bern Convention.
Description. Rhizomatous perennial plant about 20 cm. Frond blade softly coriaceous, green, oblong–lanceolate, bipinnate; petiole equal to blade or shorter.
Distribution. In Armenia it grows in Lori (Spitak, Bazum mountain range) and Zangezur (Kapan) floristic regions. EOO is 2800 km2, AOO is 12 km2, the number of locations is 3. Beyond the borders of Armenia it is distributed in the West Caucasus, West, South–West and Central Transcaucasia, Turkey.
Ecological, biological and phytocoenological peculiarities. It grows from lower to sub–alpine belt, at the altitude of 900–2500 meters above sea level, in stony parts of hornbeam forests, between rocks and in rhodorets (Rhododendron caucasicum).
Limiting factors. Restricted extent of occurrence and area of occupancy, loss/degradation of habitats caused by anthropogenic factor.
Conservation actions. No conservation actions. Necessary: monitoring of the population state, search of new habitats.
