Summarizing SHPP Monitoring Program

On 21 June 2016, at 13:00, the summary and presentation of the handbook of “Support to SHPP-relating Reforms Through the Dialogue of Public and RA Nature Protection Ministry for Sustainable Use of River Ecosystems” will be held at the American University of Armenia, Paramaz Avedisian Building (PAB), Room 308E (Marshal Baghramyan Avenue 40/1, 3rd floor). First Deputy Nature Protection Minister Simon Papyan, UNDP Environmental Programme Coordinator Armen Martirosyan will make speeches at this event.

Inga Zarafyan, President of “EcoLur” Informational NGO will present the project outcomes: “We, SHPPs, NO COMMENTS” video reel will be screened. In 2014-2016 “EcoLur” Informational NGO together with Nature Protection Ministry implemented “Support to SHPP-relating Reforms Through the Dialogue of Public and RA Nature Protection Ministry for Sustainable Use of River Ecosystems” project. The handbook outlined the problems detected as a result of the monitoring of 87 SHPPs, which are submitted in the form of proposal documentation to the National Assembly, SHPP-related ministries, departments, development banks. “Support to SHPP-relating Reforms Through the Dialogue of Public and RA Nature Protection Ministry for Sustainable Use of River Ecosystems” project has been implemented with the support of UNDP/GEF Small Grant Programme.
