Status. A rare species. Listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (ver. 3.1) as Least Concern. According to IUCN criteria categorized as Vulnerable VU B2a(ii).

Distribution. Distributed in Southern Europe, Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Central Asia, China, India and North Africa.

Distribution in Armenia. Recorded in the vicinities of Vardenis and Aygut, Gegharkunik Province.

Habitats. Semi–deserts and mountain grasslands up to 2150 m above sea level, with sparse vegetation. Sometimes occurs in gardens and settlements.

Biological traits. Not studied.

Population size and its trends. One individual was found in 1915 and another 11 individuals in 2000.

Major threats. Unknown.

Conservation measures. Some part of the range is located within Sevan National Park. It is essential to study the species biology and distribution in the country.
