Category. Endangered species. It occurs only in Ararat region of Armenia. The extent of occurrence and the area of occupancy are less than 500 km2. The species is on the verge of extinction caused by anthropogenic factor. It was not included in the first edition of the Red Data Book of Armenia. It is not included in the Annexes of CITES and that of the Bern Convention.

Description. Divaricate–branched annual plant 3–10 (15) cm. Leaves ovate–oblong, smooth–edged; lower ones at base gradually narrowed into petiole; the rest sessile. Inflorescence dense. Flowers small, yellow. Silicle 2,5–3 mm long, ovate, at apex acutiusculous; setose–pubescent; with long style; 1–seeded.

Distribution. In Armenia it grows only in Yerevan floristic region (Vedi, Ararat, Surenavan, Armash, Yengidja, Erakh and Urts mounatin ranges). EOO is 300 km2, AOO is 28 km2, the number of locations is 5. Besides Armenia the species grows in Nakhichevan, East Transcaucasia, Iran.

Ecological, biological and phytocoenological peculiarities. Grows in lower mountain belt, at the altitudes of 800–1000 meters above sea level, on dry stony slopes, among phryganoid vegetation. Flowering in April, fruiting in May.

Limiting factors. Loss/degradation of habitats caused by the expansion of arable lands and intensive grazing.

Conservation actions. No conservation actions. Necessary: survey on population numbers and range, search of new habitats, monitoring of the state of the population.
